We stopped at the Salmon Interpretive
Center to see what it was all about.
Seems
the salmon wanted to get to this river upstream of the falls, but they were too
high for the fish to jump.

So, they built
a “ladder pools” with each rung (pool) 4 feet above each other. Since the
salmon can jump about 10 feet, they can easily make it up the ladder.
Salmon are
happy.
Looks like
quite a climb ahead!
