At Carraquet, Colibri campground,
we awoke to a refreshing 69 degrees due to a rainy eve, after arriving
yesterday to a sweltering 91 degrees.
We visited the historic living history Arcadian Village
which recreates how the Arcadian people in New Brunswick lived from 1770-1949.
The buildings were saved and moved to this site.
Half the village showed their early settlement and farm
lifestyle and the other half the urban and industrial era.
The bilingual interpreters, dressed in peroid costumes, each had a story to tell and welcomed you into their homes, stores, blacksmith shop, church, school, grist mill, hotel, newspaper, etc. Many were working demonstrations.
We returned to camp to a welcomed social hour and briefing, followed by a wonderful and delicious veggie stir-fry dinner, hosted by Eric and Bettie.
We enjoyed the comradery and
it was a great end to the day!
