We are leaving this beautiful campground this morning.
We have had two days of beautiful weather, ocean views, and
scenic vistas. Now on to Percé where the
views are even more spectacular. Hope
the weather holds out.
Since today was a short travel day (only 62 miles) some of
us went to see the Mic Mac Interpretive Center or the Museé de Gaspésie before
leaving the campground.
For a few minutes on our journey we had a small number of
raindrops appear on the windshield. But it was short-lived. However, we heard from those behind us that
they had a downpour of rain on their way to Percé
We drove through idyllic countryside with homes all along
the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Of course, we had to have the token
construction zone to make the day.
I have noticed that there is more and more fireweed along
the roadsides. As you may know, fireweed
got its name from being the first vegetation to reappear after a forest
fire.
After our steep 17% downgrade and our steep 17% upgrade, we
crested the hill to the fantastic view of Percé Rock, majestic and grand,
appearing before us.
Once we got into the campground we got quite a different
view of it. We are up high and most of
us have a good view of it from our sites.
Lucky again.
This evening we did a L.E.O. to Le Biard Restaurant. We were even entertained by a French folk
singer.
Shannon and several others had the buffet, but some had fabulous
looking seafood.
Jean and Kathy are
enjoying their Paella.
Rudy and Sue with their Lobster.
Linda, Jim, Debi and Bob had a platter with lobster, crab and shrimp.
No one went away hungry!
