Day 01 - Hermon Maine - Orientation Day

Pumpkin Patch RV Resort

Some of our group had arrived at Pumpkin Patch RV Park (Hermon, Maine) a few days early, but our Adventure Caravans tour officially started with the afternoon orientation on Sunday, July 13th.  Most of us had gone out to eat the night before at a LEO (Let’s eat out) event at the Anglers Restaurant in Hampden, Maine for luscious seafood.

Most of us met this morning for a continental breakfast served by our tour hosts Madi and Spence Schaaf, Wagon Masters and Lorna and Roger Scott, Tail Gunners.  The energy level was high and the conversational activity was exciting.  Can you tell who is missing?  Their alarms must be broken or maybe it is a leisure Sunday morning for some.  Does this group look ready to go?

At the Sunday afternoon orientation we introduced ourselves and got an overview of the tour and what we need to know.  Right now there are 15 two- person rigs – including our Wagon Masters and Tail Gunners. There are 30 of us plus an assortment of cats and dogs.

A few hours later we reconnoitered for our staff prepared ham dinner.  Does it sound like we will go hungry on this trip?  We also learned about Clawed, our traveling stuffed lobster who will visit us when we’ve done something special for one another.

We had a drawing with several lucky winners.  Notice their happy faces?

Later we returned to our rigs to get ready for our drive on Monday across the border to the Quebec City area.
